Dennis fired up his new Air Conception 130 with a press of a button and took it for a couple flights in last night's changing air. All went well. Matt worked on his kiting. Rick dropped off his motor. We all enjoyed the show as this beautiful biplane taxied slowly past us down the runway to take a short flight in the spring sky.

Rick and I drove up the Dells last night to pick up the powerplant for his new aircraft. He ended up getting Mariyan's Walker Jet 200. A quick charge of the on board battery and it started right up even after sitting in the garage for the last few months. His new Trikebuggy cart will be here soon and then we can pair the two together and get it flying!
Matt A spent the evening kiting in the strong winds honing his reverse launch skills. The powerful winds demand spot on and rapid control inputs, something not easily mastered. Matt did great! Jake and Dridi visited the hanger to check the hang points on his brother's Air Conception 130 before taking it for a short flight just before sunset. I even managed to sneak in a short flight in the warm air. Great night for flying!
The grass was pretty wet this morning. Rick and Nick met me at the airport just as the sun climbed above the horizon for some training. Rick went first and therefore got the brunt of the water sprayed on him as he taxied down the runway skillfully balancing the wing overhead. Nick also tried his hand at the trike and he managed to stay much drier than his predecessor. After a few laps on the dew covered runway Nick switched to foot launch and we introduce him to forward launching. All his kiting practice paid off and he was soon successfully launching in nearly no wind with the motor weighing him down as he ran. Very soon these two will be flying!
Scott and Dennis met me at the hanger just as the sun came up on a beautiful Saturday. Both were able to get several short flights in before the predicted strong gusts arrived ending our morning of fun. Matt stopped out to the hanger towards the end of day and made some shor flights himself. Matt and I ended the day with a cross country flight up and around the Oregon water tower. It was a nice smooth and warm flight that ended just before sundown. Great day!
Matt W finally had some warm weather to clean and logo up his ride. Looks awesome, thanks for the love Matt!

If you have something that you would like to make look significantly cooler by tagging it with one of these bad boys let me know! Yes Nick I have some set aside for you ;) |
