The winds were too strong to fly around Madison Sunday morning. So, before the sun came up I drove up to meet Nick at his field north of Montello where the forecast was for lighter winds. Nick has set up a beautiful grass strip on his property that worked great!
Then it was off to Sauk City to do some paraglider towing with the Jeep. Unfortunately, something in the clutch broke on the way there causing the Jeep to make a terrible squealing noise when shifting. I just hoped it would last through the towing session. The breeze was right inline with the road which allowed us to do several nice and high toes. We called it quits shortly before sunset. The Jeep made it almost all the way home before the clutch gave up entirely and left me on the side of the road. Another long adventure filled day with Madcity Paragliding.

Adam and I managed to get a little flying in during the momentary break in rain clouds Tuesday. Flying right after the storm passed proved to be pretty bumpy, though it did calm considerably by sunset.
Wednesday was yet another rainy day. Mike’s custom Ozone Roadster 3 arrived, awesome! Can’t wait to see him fly it. I also spent some time in my dry garage cleaning and rebuilding the carburetor on the Blackhawk. It’s something we should do every year. Enough rain already, bring on the sunshine!! Mark and I spent the last two days kiting when the weather allowed and working on ground school tasks indoors when it was nasty out. Mark quickly grasped the basics of wing handling, probably because of his extensive skydiving experience. Now we find ourselves, like everyone else, waiting for the foul weather to clear the area and let go back outside and play!
