Scott and Paul met me at the Elver Park Sledding Hill to work on their kiting skills Thursday evening. Both showed marked improvement as the day came to a end. Sometime soon both of them will be taking their first powered flights.

Very productive weekend. Friday Rick started in earnest including some trips up and down the runway in the trike. He really seamed to enjoy the speed. Saturday was spent at the sledding hill with Scott working on kiting skills. Dimitri and Rick stopped by too. Sunday was the nicest day so far this year. I spent the day at the airport with Paul, Rick and Chuck working on all sorts of skills. Larry, Su and Jon even stopped by with a cool Madcity Paragliding T-Shirt for me. Thanks guys!
Like most of us drawn to this sport, Rick says he has always wanted to fly. Well, he has finally found time in his busy life to pursue his dream. I'm all to excited he is letting me be a part of it. This is going to be a blast!
Come on SPRING!! The snow is melting rapidly and the runway is drying. It was very wet last weekend but we had great conditions for flying once you left the ground. Jake and Dave made their last required flights. Congratulations Jake on earning your PPG2! Dave just needs to take the written test and he'll be free to fly on his own. Matt W. stopped out to take a flight and check out the flooded fields. My son, Kaden got some training time in too. He even managed to take a short flight in the trike when he added a little bit too much throttle during taxi practice. As soon as he realized he left the runway he released the throttle and glided comfortably back to the surface of the earth, overjoyed and thrilled at how easy it was.
I couldn't resist one last power skiing session. The snow wasn't the greatest but we may not see it again for a few months so I made the most of it. Hopefully we will get one more good storm before we say goodbye to winter this season.
Since he just turned 14, Kaden decided to try on the Miniplane last night to see if he was finally big enough to try foot launch. We decided he will need just a little bit more growing before he's ready for foot launching. For now we will continue with the wheel launch training. I bet sometime before the summer is over he will be running into the sky to join me.
Friday was perfect for flying and we took full advantage of it. Lots of flying was had. Jake made 5 great forward launches and brought his flight count up to 21, just 4 more needed to graduate. Paul a former student stopped out and made a short sunset flight. Mariyan and his wife were there too and took a leisurely tandem flight around the area. Jake brought a friend along to watch but we got her airborne for a short flight too thanks to a tandem wing and the tow winch. I even managed to get a post sunset winch flight in to help Mariyan log experience while he works on getting his tow rating. We sure could use many more days like this, warm and calm.
